Clearwater Valley Health Welcomes Dr. Jane Fore
Originally from Kansas, Dr. Jane Fore comes to us after working for over 40 years in the Lewiston-Clarkston Valley. During that time, Dr. Fore held private practice, worked in hospital admissions, provided consultations for other physicians, worked in St. Joe’s Wound Care, provided medical care for nursing home residents and patients at home, and served as a clinical professor at the University of Idaho.
“I made the decision to come and work for Clearwater Valley Health because I like the outpatient internal medicine opportunity,” says Dr. Fore. “I am also excited about the opportunity to bring wound healing services to the area. The administrative, nursing and support staff and practitioners and physicians care about their patients and that is such a refreshing situation. I do not feel like an outsider even though I am new to this practice. I have already enjoyed connections with the providers and patients in the area through the years I have been in the Lewiston-Clarkston area.”
Dr. Fore brings a wealth of experience with her and she is most passionate about healing and restoring function, not just treating conditions. “I believe that communication is so important in life. I value people reaching out and working together,” says Fore. “In healthcare I feel that prevention is key. Restoration is my goal. I take pride in my patients not just surviving but also thriving. I believe that we are better together; when working as a team. I care so much about the individual people. Both the staff I work with and the people that I serve.”
Dr. Fore was born and raised in Kansas and lived in a suburb outside of Kansas City. “All of my extended family were farmers and ranchers in central Kansas,” which is part of the reason why she feels so comfortable in a smaller town with access to all of the outdoor activities that she enjoys.
“I love spending time with friends. I also enjoy cooking and trying out new recipes; I feel like cooking is a chemistry experiment that you can eat. My other hobbies include hiking, rafting the river, and exercising or going to the gym. Above all, time with my family is precious. I have a daughter who lives in Snohomish with two children ages 11 and 17 and a son with a wife and daughter age 9 who live in Knoxville, Tennessee. I always answer the phone when they call unless in a dire emergency. They are a priority, even when I am working. My children have had to put up with a busy doctor mom their entire lives.”
When asked what she would do if she were not a doctor she replied, “I would do something creative that would use my hands. I think learning to weld and machine things would be interesting. I also love to challenge people to dig deeper and to learn more about whatever they are studying. Maybe a teacher. I love to do crafts. Lots of ideas but very little time to pursue these things when you are in the medical profession.”
As for what she can be found doing on any Sunday morning, Dr. Fore responded, “I go to church. My spiritual walk on a daily basis is a part of everything that I do.”
We are very excited to have Dr. Jane Fore join our medical team at CVH and lead our new wound care program. For more information, you can call us 208-476-5777 or visit www.smh-cvh.org.
