Yadi Hernandez, LMSWBy Yadi Hernandez

Hello, my name is Yadira Hernandez, but I usually go by Yadi. I have a License master’s in social work. I have been practicing in Idaho for about 10 years. I graduated from the University of Southern California (USC) in 2014. My concentration was in Children and Family Services with a sub-concentration in Military Services. I have worked in several Idaho State departments, non-profits and private agencies. I have experience working with diverse communities and working with different mental health diagnosis. I enjoy doing individual therapy but also do family, couples and group therapy. My focus is to individualize every treatment plan that is functional by focusing on their acquired skills and strengths as a foundation for their growth. My goal is to create a safe, supportive and growing space for all my patients. In part of my practice, I like to focus on education about mental health stigma. I work hard to normalize mental health and finding appropriate treatment to improve your quality of life. My favorite quote comes from Abraham Maslow who was an American psychologist and philosopher. Maslow said, “In any given moment we have two options: to step forward into growth or to step back into safety. I believe we have all experience hardships in our life, and it is up to us to find ways to continue to grow and improve our quality of life. I am excited to be working with a great team and a supportive organization like CVH/SMH.
