Angel Tree Marks 30 Years of Community Giving

SMH Angel Tree GraphicThis year marks the 30th year of the Christmas Angel Tree, a program sponsored by the St. Mary’s Health Foundation and made possible through the generosity of our community.

For three decades, the Angel Tree has connected local donors with children and families throughout the region, helping provide Christmas gifts and warm clothing for children from newborn through 12th grade.

Families seeking assistance, as well as community members wishing to nominate a child or family, are encouraged to contact coordinator Kristi Holthaus at (208) 962-2331 by November 20. All information is kept confidential.

In addition to holiday gifts, volunteers with the St. Mary’s Health Community Pantry prepare food boxes for Angel Tree families and local seniors. Those needing food assistance may also contact Kristi to request a holiday food box.

All requested gifts and food baskets will be distributed on December 17 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the St. Mary’s Health Community Pantry, located at 423 Main Street in Cottonwood.

Those wishing to support the Angel Tree may make a financial contribution to help fill unclaimed wish lists and meet other program needs. Checks may be made payable to SMH Foundation Angel Tree and mailed to 701 Lewiston St., Cottonwood, ID 83522.

To learn more about the Angel Tree, additional Foundation programs, or ways to support local healthcare through philanthropy, contact Brynn Knudson, Director of the Foundation, at (208) 476-8020.

For 30 years, the Angel Tree has been a reflection of our community’s caring spirit. We are thankful for the many donors, volunteers, and supporters who continue to make this tradition possible.
