Belinda Stockton Memorial Wishing Tree Program Opens for 2026 Holiday Season

The Clearwater Valley Health Foundation is inviting the community to help make Christmas brighter for local children through the Belinda Stockton Memorial Wishing Tree Program, named in honor of longtime Clearwater Valley Health caregiver and Foundation supporter Belinda Stockton.

Through the generosity of community members, businesses, and Clearwater Valley Health caregivers, the Wishing Tree program helps make the holiday season brighter for local children. Many families request everyday essentials such as clothing, shoes, hygiene items, and other necessities alongside a few special gifts, while donors and caregivers work together to fulfill those requests.
The program serves children in sixth grade and younger who live within School District 171, including Orofino, Timberline, Peck, and Cavendish. Applications must be submitted by a parent or legal guardian and are due by November 6, 2026.

Applications are available online at smh-cvh.org/christmas-wishing-tree, by contacting the Wishing Tree Program at wishingtree@kh.org, or at Orofino Health Clinic, located at 1055 Riverside Avenue. Completed applications may be dropped off at the clinic, mailed to CVH Wishing Tree at 301 Cedar Avenue, Orofino, ID 83544, or submitted by email.

Community members can support the program by “Adopting a Star” from the Wishing Tree display at the clinic. Each star includes a list of requested items for a local child. Stars may be selected in person at the clinic or requested by email. Those interested in adopting siblings may contact the Wishing Tree Committee by email or by calling (208) 476-8006.

All adopted gifts should be wrapped and returned to the clinic by December 10, 2026. Receiving gifts by that date allows the committee time to fill any remaining needs before Christmas.
Those unable to shop can still support the program through financial contributions. Donations help provide gifts for children whose stars may not be selected and help fill unmet wish list needs. Checks may be made payable to CVH Foundation Wishing Tree and mailed to 301 Cedar Avenue, Orofino, ID 83544.

As the holiday season approaches, organizers hope the community will once again come together to continue the spirit of generosity that Belinda Stockton championed for so many years.
