Christmas Wishing Tree

Wishing Tree

Make a child’s Christmas wish come true by participating in the CVHC Belinda Stockton Memorial Foundation Emergency Fund Committee (FEFC) Wishing Tree event. This is a non-profit charity event, and our goal is to help families in need during the Christmas season.

The Wishing Tree is made up of three parts:

          • Families that need help
          • Community members (Secret Santa’s) providing that help
          • Wishing Tree committee members (Elf’s) that make it all  come together

The program manages to help multiple families and with the unstable economic times the number seems to continue to rise each year.

Secret Santas

November 1, 2024 “Stars” each represent a child, will be placed on the Wishing Tree located at Orofino Health Center (OHC) for our wonderful, caring, and generous community members, aka: Secret Santa’s, to get.

November 29, 2024 is our goal is to have all “stars” spoken for. To achieve this deadline, we are offering a few options this year for getting “star/s”.

  • You can come in person to OHC and pick a “star/s” of your choosing off the tree
  • Email [email protected] and the committee will pick a “star/s” for you!
  • Another option is to “Choose Siblings.” This means you can get multiple “stars” for children in the same family. Last year, a work group picked a big family, then made it a fun day of shopping and wrapping together. They said it was a great team building experience, as well. If this is an option you would like, please let the committee know as soon as possible, and include the number of siblings you would like, and we will do our best to pick a family out for you.

December 9, 2024 deadline goal for Secret Santa’s to get gifts back to OHC wrapped and ready with the “star” as the gift tag on them. This gives the committee team time to shop for the remaining “stars,” and to supplement shop. Many times one child in the family is lavished with gifts so the team “evens out” the wants and needs for the remaining children in the family. If little Annie was to get all her gifts and little Andy only got one, that would not be a happy Christmas morning.

We love for people to take “stars,” but understand not everyone has time or ability. We accept and rely on cash donations, as well. For those who wish to make a donation, checks can be made out and mailed to: CVH Foundation Wishing Tree, 301 Cedar Ave, Orofino, ID 83544.

The Belinda Stockton FEFC would not be able to do any of this without our Secret Santa’s and we cannot express our gratefulness enough to all of you!

Belinda Stockton

Belinda Stockton The Wishing Tree is made up of three parts: Families that need help, Community members providing that help, and Wishing Tree committee that make it all come together.

Belinda Stockton had always been a part of the committee in her 46 years at CVH and in 2000 she took it over as President. In the spring on 2023 we lost our beloved Belinda to cancer. We all called her “Mrs. Clause” during Christmas time, it truly was her favorite time of the year.  In honor of her memory, years of hard work, dedication and commitment, the new committee has been renamed the “Belinda Stockton Memorial Foundation Emergency Fund Committee (FEFC)”

For those who wish to make a donation, checks can be made out and mailed to: CVH Foundation Wishing Tree, 301 Cedar Ave, Orofino, ID 83544.  The Belinda Stockton Memorial FEFC Wishing Tree team thanks you for your support at this special time of year!
