Clearwater Valley Health Welcomes New Family Medicine Provider, Dr. Phebe Alley
Clearwater Valley Health is thrilled to announce the addition of Dr. Phebe Alley to our medical team. As a comprehensive family medicine provider, Dr. Alley will be offering a full spectrum of care at our facilities, including outpatient and pediatric medicine, obstetrical care, inpatient hospital medicine, and emergency services.
Dr. Alley’s connection to Clearwater Valley Health began during her residency when she completed a rotation here in October 2021. The scope of medicine offered at CVH, combined with the rural setting and outdoor recreational opportunities, made Orofino an ideal choice for Dr. Alley and her partner, Danny Norris, an experienced nurse who will also be joining the CVH team.
Dr. Alley’s journey to medicine began on her family’s hobby farm in Upstate New York, where she raised sheep for 4-H competitions and helped with their Red Angus cattle. Her early work experience included time at a local dairy farm during high school. She went on to earn her degree in Cell Biology/Biochemistry from Bucknell University before attending medical school at the University of Rochester.
During the early days of COVID-19, Dr. Alley worked in an advanced practitioner role in Upstate New York before completing her residency at Full Circle Health in Boise, Idaho. Most recently, she completed a one-year Obstetrical fellowship at Essentia Health in Duluth, Minnesota.
Dr. Alley’s commitment to rural medicine is deeply personal. Growing up in a small community where her father served as the primary care physician, she witnessed firsthand the impact of comprehensive family medicine. This experience shaped her desire to provide care across all age groups, from pediatrics to geriatrics, including obstetrical care.
“I became a family doctor because I did not want to give up any particular patient population,” Dr. Alley explains. Her dedication to full-spectrum care aligns perfectly with the needs of our rural community.
When not caring for patients, Dr. Alley enjoys various outdoor activities including horseback riding, hiking, running, and cross-country skiing. She also practices yoga and hopes to return to some of her other interests such as spinning wool, weaving, cooking, baking, and gardening.
Dr. Alley will be moving to Orofino with her partner Danny and her horse, Trend. We are confident that their love for the outdoors and rural lifestyle will make them excellent additions to our community.
Please join us in welcoming Dr. Alley to Clearwater Valley Health and our community!
