Exciting Changes Ahead: St. Mary’s Health and Clearwater Valley Health are Upgrading to Better Serve You

Lenne Bonner, CEO_2St. Mary’s Health and Clearwater Valley Health are making a significant investment in your care by transitioning to a new, state-of-the-art Electronic Health Record (EHR) system called MEDITECH Expanse. This upgrade will ultimately enhance your healthcare experience and improve the quality of care you receive.

What This Means for You

Starting the first week of August, you’ll begin to see the benefits of our new system. The most exciting change? Your doctors will finally be able to access both your clinic and hospital records in one unified location. This comprehensive view of your health history will enable your healthcare team to provide more coordinated, informed care than ever before.

The new system also brings modern conveniences you’ll appreciate. Much of your registration can now be completed digitally, reducing paperwork and streamlining your visits. You’ll also have access to a new patient portal that offers improved features for managing your healthcare online.

Temporary Adjustments During Our Transition

Like any major upgrade, this transition requires some temporary adjustments that we want you to be aware of:

Training Period (Mid-June through August 1st): Our dedicated staff will be participating in comprehensive training to ensure they can fully utilize the new system’s capabilities. During this time, you may experience slightly longer wait times for appointments, particularly for wellness visits and specialty services like radiology or surgery. While our doctors will maintain their full schedules, we may have fewer front desk staff available during training sessions, which could slow the check-in process.

Getting Started with the New System: When you visit us after the transition begins in early August, don’t be surprised if we ask you to provide your medication lists and allergy information again, or if we need you to complete some first-of-the-year paperwork. This isn’t because we’ve lost your information—it’s because we’re building your profile in our new, more comprehensive system. This presents a perfect opportunity to ensure all your information is completely accurate and up-to-date.

New Patient Portal

You’ll need to create a new account for our updated patient portal. We’ll provide clear instructions and support to help you set up your new account and will let you know when the current portal will no longer be available.

Our Commitment to You

Throughout this transition, we remain committed to maintaining same-day appointment availability whenever possible. We understand that healthcare can’t wait, and we’re working diligently to minimize any disruption to your care.

While we anticipate some temporary delays and adjustments during the first few weeks, we’re confident that this upgrade will significantly improve your healthcare experience in the long run. The enhanced coordination between your clinic and hospital care, reduced paperwork, and improved digital access will make managing your health more convenient and effective.

Thank You for Your Patience

We appreciate your understanding and patience as we implement these improvements. This investment in advanced technology reflects our ongoing commitment to providing you with the highest quality healthcare possible. If you have any questions or concerns during this transition, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our team.

Together, we’re building a more connected, efficient, and patient-centered healthcare experience for our community.
