SMH & CVH Are Bringing Advanced 3D Mammography To Our Community

St. Mary’s Health and Clearwater Valley Health are excited to announce the launch of our new 3D mobile mammography program, bringing top quality breast cancer screening closer to home! Thanks to the generous support of the Murdock Foundation, the St. Mary’s Health Foundation and the Clearwater Valley Health Foundation, this program will make screenings more accessible to patients throughout our region.

Unlike traditional mobile units, our machine features advanced 3D technology, allowing us to serve more patients. Including those who may have previously been turned away due to imaging limitations. This technology provides clearer, more detailed images, improving early detection and reducing the need for additional follow-ups.

Dr. Reisenauer, our lead radiologist, shared, “This is the best image quality I’ve seen in the area. The level of detail allows us to detect abnormalities earlier and with greater confidence, which is critical for improving patient outcomes.”

The mobile unit will rotate weekly between St. Mary’s Health Cottonwood Clinic, St. Mary’s Health Grangeville Clinic, Clearwater Valley Health Orofino Clinic, and St. Mary’s Health Kamiah Clinic, providing convenient access to screenings across multiple locations. Patients will be scheduled Monday through Wednesday each week.

A provider’s order is required for a mammogram. To schedule, contact your provider at your preferred location.

This program is an important step in expanding access to breast cancer screening, ensuring more patients can receive high-quality imaging without the need for long travel times. With cutting-edge technology and greater accessibility, we’re committed to providing the best possible care for our communities.
